Lithium ion batteries
Eco Tech USA was the very first company to import electric bicycles with Lithium power packs, starting with Panasonic's WiLL bike in Spring 2004. We have a track record in this area that other electric bike suppliers cannot match.

We are very pleased indeed to be supplying electric bikes fitted with the winning Panasonic motor and battery combination. Since their introduction in 2004, Panasonic have expanded their battery range to include the 26V 10Ah Lithium Manganese stack-laminated technology used in the latest Kalhoff electric bikes.

In terms of both safety and suitability for use in light electric vehicles, stack laminated batteries compare favourably with the other Lithium battery chemistries. Click the image to the left to see the details.

The Panasonic battery pack used in our Kalkhoff electric bikes also benefits from a unique sleep mode function that protects against self-discharge when not in use. It works by cutting off power to the onboard control circuits which would otherwise require a small amount of charge. Panasonic compare this to bears conserving resources when hibernating at winter. The battery can be revived simply by placing it back on the charger.

So when you buy a pedelec bicycle from Eco Tech you can rely on the best, safest and most reliable battery technology available from Panasonic, a brand known worldwide for its quality and innovation. They're so confident that each battery comes with a 2-year warranty, which is unheard of in the electric bike world, where a 6-month warranty is often something to be grafeful for!

Other battery chemistries

The Lithium Manganese battery chemistry is different to that used in standard Lithium ion and Lithium polymer batteries. These usually come with a Cobalt cathode. These are prone to thermal runaway - ie explosion and fire. The bad news is that this variant is finding its way into more and more electric bikes. Manganese, unlike Cobalt, is a safe and more environmentally benign cathode material.

Even worse, cheaper Li batteries often use inadequate battery management systems and unsuitable chargers, which just compound the problems.

If you're buying a Lithium powered electric bike from someone else, ask the retailer about battery safety and life expectancy - if they cannot guarantee that they use Lithium Manganese and don't understand the importance of a reliable, well-engineered battery management system, our advice is simple: don't buy!

Eco Tech USA's Mariner along with the Trail Blazer has been the 2 original Eco Easy Rider electric bike models. The Mariner received it's name due to it being the perfect companion on a boating trip. Imagine docking upon an Island and having the ability to jump on your electric folding bike and explore. The Mariner frame and handlebars fold easily for quick storing and easy transporting. The step through frame makes it a breeze to mount the bike and the variable throttle allows for quick acceleration or a enjoy a noiseless, harmless but completely fun ride. There are front and rear aluminum mud guards along with an aluminum rear carrier. A light but efficient front suspension smoothes out the rough spots for when the trail gets a little bumpy and there is a full 36V and 10Ah battery system included.

Eco Tech USA's Mariner ME was created for oceanfront living, where there are heavy salt air concentrations. ME stands for Marine Environment and we used our original Mariner model as the standard. Upgrades include all steel parts have been replaced with high grade aluminum alloys or stainless steel. These include all bolts, washer and nuts. We have also upgrade the suspension to a T6 aluminum crown suspension fork, stainless steel front & rear disc brake rotors and high quality aluminum components such as the seat post, handlebars, front hub and more. The Mariner ME will be a perfect bike for those who live near high salt concentration areas such as the beach or storing the bike on an open deck boat. The Mariner ME also runs off a 36V 10Ah Liion battery system and 180 Watt hub motor.

Eco Tech USA's Trail Blazer was one of our first electric bike models and has been a proven seller. It has a aircraft quality T6 aluminum alloy frame that folds in the center for quick transporting or when you need to be able to store the bike easily. The handle bars are height adjustable and also fold along with the pedals for additional compacting. The battery is removable and the bike can be powered simply by turning the variable throttle or by initiating pedaling and allow the Intelligent Pedal Assist to move the bike forward. This bike is the perfect traveling companion to take on a trip, whether by RV or boat. It is similar to our Mariner but has a slightly sportier frame. It has our 36V 10Ah Liion battery system coupled to an energy efficient 180 watt brushless hub motor that offers a solid line of torque. .

Eco Tech USA's Trail Blazer S is our answer to a BMX style electric sport bike. Besides adding a red "S' to the end of Trail Blazer, we took the Trail Blazer frame, battery, motor and folding handlebars but replaced or removed everything else. We installed front & rear stainless steel disc rotors along with a Shimano 6 Speed. Red calipers matching the red "S" along with wider mountain tires, HD front & seat suspension while removing the rear carrier and fenders created a seriously fun sport bike with aggressive good looks and powerful performance. Our 36V 10Ah high powered Liion battery system is coupled to our 180 watt brushless hub motor. The added performance components and removal of the fenders and carrier really do make for a whole new version of the Trail Blazer and not to be mistaken.

Eco Tech USA's Road King is a classic and aggressive looking mountain bike built to feel, look and ride like a typical nonpowered bike. It was designed with a perfect compliment of components usually reserved for top of the line bikes . It starts out with a T6 aircraft quality aluminum TIG welded frame, Top Gun alloy shocks, front disc brake, Shimano derailleur, double wall rims and the list goes on. This bike is powered according to pedaling effort and when a light effort is applied, the power comes on slowly, when hard pedaling is done, the power advances quickly. There is an On/Off switch on the handlebars to turn the power off when it's time for a little exercise. We have many testimonials of riders who have purchased this model and find themselves riding it as much with the motor on as with it off.
5000 Li S Road King 5000   Our price: $ 2,399.00
Eco Tech USA's Road King 5000 was designed for the long traveling rider and those who were looking for a little more performance. A 48V 20Ah Liion battery system was designed where the cells are situated in a certain pattern, taking only slightly more space than our 36V 10Ah battery system. The 48V 20Ah system offers the equivalent of FOUR typical 24V 10Ah battery systems found on most other manufacturers' electric bikes. That is FOUR times the traveling distance. There was plenty of reserve battery capacity for us to have a little fun and double up on the wattage to 500 for a hub motor. The motor is a true 500 watt brushless motor, not a motor that peaks at 500 and runs less, we could not put this motor in any other bike due to the loss of travel distance. By the way, it had to be governed to be legal.

Eco Tech USA's Evolution is a more civilized version of our Evolution GTS. We took the GTS and added front and rear alloy mud guards along with an alloy rear carrier. The tires were changed for a smoother CST EBike Pro cruising tire. We continued with performance in mind and left the disc and linear pull brake system intact. Our high performance 36V 10Ah battery system married to the 250 watt efficient brushless hub motor also remains. This is a perfect electric bike for just about anyone. It includes a variable throttle so you can power as if it were a scooter or utilize the Intelligent Pedal for minimal effort pedaling. We included a pivoting steering stem that allows for the handlebars to be adjusted higher and towards yourself for an upright riding position or lower for a leaning forward position.

Eco Tech USA’s Evolution GTS is one of our boldest moves. This is not your Uncle’s electric bike. This is a serious bike built to withstand the demands most electric bikes never thought they would experience. We started with a TIG welded T6 aircraft quality aluminum frame meant for serious riding, added X¬Wide 2.3” mountain tires with an alloy double wall rim and stainless steel spokes. Power was easy, use our high¬powered 36V 10Ah Li¬ion battery pack coupled with our energy efficient 250 watt maintenance free hub motor. We then added a HD alloy with steel stanchions suspension fork and topped it off with a front disc and rear linear pull brake system. Simply one of our best designs and meant to change the way the world looks at electric bikes. This is a bike that anyone would be proud to own!!
